Uygur "Wild Pigeon" Caged

The following report by Radio Free Asia details the recent jailing of Nurmuhemmet Yasin, a 35 year old Uygur writer, by the Chinese Government.

Yasin was sentenced to 10 years in jail having been found guilty of inciting Uygur separatism through the publication of a 6,000 word fable entitled "Wild Pigeon".

Radio Free Asia has had the story translated from the Uygur and can be read at the following website.

See if you believe such writing deserves a sentence of ten years jail.
