Tiananman Square dissident Released

Newsday.com - AP World News:

"BEIJING -- China released a longtime democracy activist Thursday who helped organize the 1989 Tiananmen Square protests -- the third time in a week Beijing has moved on similar cases after lobbying from Washington. "

Well I do not really know why China is all of a sudden making concessions on Human Rights prisoners; Tibetan Nuns, Uygur Millionaires and now a Tiananman Square protestor.

A little bit for everyone the more cynical may say.

But it is all good, any such moves are welcomed regardless the motivation which at this stage I can only see as being meant to dissuade the U.S. and others from submitting and voting for a resolution against China human Rights record in 2003 at the United Nations Human Rights meeting in Geneva on the 15th of this month.
